We’re looking for manuscripts in specific subject areas that complement our existing publishing programs and continue to enhance readers’ lives—books about personal journeys, transformational stories, metaphysical fiction, and prescriptive self-help.

The publishers of the New York Times bestseller The Book of Awakening and bestselling authors Neale Donald Walsch, Richard Bach, Jack Canfield, Marci Shimoff, and Lynn Grabhorn are pleased to announce Turning Stone Press, a new publishing service for authors of spiritual and self-help books. Turning Stone Press, a collaboration between Red Wheel Weiser Conari Press, Hampton Roads Publishing, and Hierophant Publishing, offers authors who want to self-publish a one-stop service for publishing and selling their books.

Turning Stone Press provides complete editorial and production services including copyediting, book and cover design, all overseen by Red Wheel Weiser Conari’s art and production directors. Print and digital editions of each book are produced and listed on major bookselling sites such as Amazon and barnesandnoble.com, as well as other retail outlets. Both formats are featured on a dedicated Turning Stone Press website that is e-commerce ready and on Red Wheel Weiser Conari’s main website. Turning Stone Press also provides a press release and marketing plan for each book.

“Our expertise is with spiritual and self-help books,” said Jan Johnson, publisher of Red Wheel Weiser Conari, who will head up Turning Stone Press as editorial director. “We’re looking for manuscripts in specific subject areas that complement our existing publishing programs and continue to enhance readers’ lives—books about personal journeys, transformational stories, metaphysical fiction, and prescriptive self-help,” said Johnson. “One of the main reasons we decided on the Turning Stone Press model is that we were getting so many good submissions of fiction and non-fiction personal stories in our fields. In traditional publishing it’s difficult to publish those by unknown authors. With this cooperative model we can cast a wider net and be more agile in our publishing program.”

Red Wheel Weiser Conari is the publisher of the New York Times bestsellers The Book of Awakening and Random Acts of Kindness.

“Turning Stone Press provides a unique opportunity for authors to work with the best editorial, production, and marketing personnel in the spiritual and self-help genre, the same people who select and produce all the other books in the Red Wheel Weiser Conari, Hampton Roads, and Hierophant publishing family,” said Randy Davila, president of Hampton Roads Publishing and Hierophant Publishing. Hampton Roads is the publisher of several bestselling books and authors including Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch, Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn, and Hypnotizing Maria by Richard Bach. Hierophant is the publisher of the upcoming book Pearls of Wisdom by Jack Canfield, Marci Shimoff, and Chris and Janet Attwood.
