After 12 plus years of being a record producer, singer and professional guitar and bass player, David St.Germain has finally has released his debut album “My Country Song”. In development over the last 2 years, this new country rock sound seems well worth the wait. The new album was produced in Winnipeg, Canada at the Groove Jungle Studio with musicians from all over North America. “We flew guys in and caught the pro’s when they were in town” David says “We knew who we wanted on the record and went after them”.
David gave up his producing hat on this project handing the reins to Howard Klopak (Groove Jungle Studio) and Chris Sutherland (Kim Mitchel). “We had a great team” David remembers “long hours in the studio filled with laughs, arguments and coffee”.
The new album is 12 tracks long with something for everyone. 2 ballads, a few medium tempo tunes and a couple of high energy rockers. Although mostly written or co-written by David, a few guest songwriters appear on the album. One that jumped out was Mike Reno of Loverboy. He contributes 1 song that might be one of the highlights of the whole album.
David St.Germain has certainly come out with a bang and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.
