After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston, Fla., has hired Sandra Viall as chief nursing officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 20 years of nursing leadership experience, Viall will assume her new duties at Hendry Regional Medical Center on February 13.

After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston, Fla., has hired Sandra Viall as chief nursing officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 20 years of nursing leadership experience, Viall will assume her new duties at Hendry Regional Medical Center on February 13.

“Sandi is a collaborative and decisive nurse leader who understands how to engage the work force and improve employee, physician and patient satisfaction,” said Lynn Beasley, chief executive officer of Hendry Regional Medical Center. “Her skills will help us enhance nursing and other clinical departments while continuing to achieve improved quality, operational and financial performance.”

Prior to joining Hendry Regional Medical Center, Viall was director of nursing at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ill., where she led a staff of more than 200 nurses. She also served as director of nursing, critical care at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill., and was clinical nursing director for the neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago, Ill.

“Hendry Regional needed a nursing leader with demonstrated success creating and leading a culture based on customer service, quality and accountability, while building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the medical staff,” according to Teresa Collins, vice president of executive search for B. Viall earned a Master of Science in nursing administration and a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Ill., and is currently studying to earn a doctorate in nursing practice in executive leadership at Governors State University in University Park, Ill. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), the American Nurses Association (ANA) and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certified NE-BC.
