Attorney Deborah Truhowsky, Senior Counsel for the Law Firm of D. F. Truhowsky, will present an educational presentation for the New York City Chapter of the Alzehimer's Association titled: "Knowledge is Power! Tips to Help You Navigate the Health Care Process" on February 13, 2012.

Attorney Deborah Truhowsky, Senior Counsel for the Law Firm of D. F. Truhowsky, will present an educational presentation for the New York City Chapter of the Alzehimer's Association titled: "Knowledge is Power! Tips to Help You Navigate the Health Care Process". Ms. Truhowsky will cover the following key points in the presentation:

  •     Is your family member at risk for bed sores or falls?
  •     Care/equipment to help prevent injuries
  •     Legal rights if injuries occur

"Persons suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia often lose the ability to express their needs clearly or to be able to take care of themselves", explained Ms. Truhowsky. "When this occurs, it can be very important for family members and loved ones to ensure that the person receives the necessary care and attention to prevent accidents, injuries, infections, and preventable diseases. This presentation will cover the steps that family members and caregivers need to know to ensure the safety and well-being of the person afflicted with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia".

The presentation will occur on Monday, February 13th 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8 P.M. EST at the Alzeheimer's Association Chapter offices located at 360 Lexington Ave., 4th Floor, New York, NY 10017,
