Operators will see a demo of new TR-069 capabilities the company will be integrating into their popular TruVizion broadband diagnostics.

At the annual NTCA meeting next week ZCorum will be taking telephone companies on a tour of a diagnostics application that promises to revolutionize how they manage their DSL modems and network. The company will be demonstrating the new capabilities during a 30-minute presentation on February 14th starting at 7:00 AM in room Ford C at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego. In addition to their presentation time, ZCorum staff will be manning booth #404 in the exhibit hall during the NTCA Expo.

“I’m really looking forward to giving NTCA members a preview of the application,” said Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology at ZCorum. “Telcos have been disadvantaged for far too long in the area of diagnostics. We’re developing what is truly a first-of-its-kind tool to help them reduce operational costs while also improving the customer experience.” Helms said the new tool set will include features like current and historical modem levels, interactive mapping that displays geographically which modems are experiencing issues, and the ability to remotely restore a modem’s most recent config file with one click.

Helms said the DSL diagnostics functionality is being integrated into TruVizion, an application initially developed for cable providers, and which was named as one of FierceCable’s Fierce15 in 2010. “Compared to DSL, cable modem diagnostics was relatively easy because there’s been a robust and accepted standard for communicating with cable gear for so long. DSL was more of a challenge, but we now have a solution that we’re very excited about.” Helms hinted that they will be making a major announcement at next week’s meeting regarding how they will be implementing that solution.
