Pedagogy, Inc. Announces New Course in Acid Base Metabolism Authored by Dr. Gadi Segal, CEO and Medical Director at Medidactic Ltd.

Learning acid-base metabolism has traditionally presented challenges for health care students, nurses and physicians. However, acid-base disturbances are life threatening, and require rapid analysis and correction.

Pedagogy, Inc., a national provider of online continuing education and training courses for health care professionals, is very pleased to announce an important new class covering acid base metabolism from an author new to Pedagogy, Gadi Segal, M.D. Pedagogy CEO Capra Dalton is also using this occasion to announce the exciting new interactive e-learning features of this class, which will also be continued in additional upcoming Pedagogy classes from Dr. Segal and his colleagues at Medidactic.

The author, Dr. Gadi Segal, is a specialist in internal medicine and serves as Deputy Director of Internal Medicine "T" at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center in Israel. He is co-founder, CEO and Medical Director at Medidactic Ltd., a company dedicated to the science and application of e-learning programs for health care professionals. Dr. Segal lectures on "Clinical Nephrology" and "Metabolic Derangements in the ICU" at several nursing schools in Israel. He has also won accolades as the "best teacher" in several schools in Israel the past several consecutive years. Additionally, Dr. Segal serves as a clinical instructor at the Sackler School of Medicine where he is engaged in research in the field of e-learning.

The Acid-Base Insight Generator, the first interactive course in Pedagogy’s new learning partnership with Dr. Segal and Medidactic, Ltd., is designed to educate the student in the very technical field of acid-base metabolic disturbances. The courseware consists of interactive chapters, gradually progressing from biochemical introduction to interactive, clinical case scenarios. At the clinical scenario stage the students must first learn to diagnose the clinical problem (i.e. a panic attack giving rise to hyperventilation), then diagnose the acid-base disturbance according to the lab results (i.e. respiratory alkalosis), and finally decide on appropriate means of intervention. The class is designed to teach the technical knowledge and evaluation skills required to achieve competency in this field.
