Nichols brings over thirty years of experience in providing hands-on, strategic crisis management communications advice and counsel to companies and individuals at the highest levels of sports, business, entertainment, government and public policy. Specializing in corporate crisis management and sports crisis matters, Nichols has not only provided legal crisis management counsel, but he also designed and executed strategic crisis communication plans for clients involved in some of the biggest sports controversies of the last decade, including Marion Jones in the BALCO performance enhancing drug scandal.

Additionally, Nichols’ clients have included professional and NCAA Division 1 coaches, administrators involved in national controversies, and a major public educational institution dealing with allegations of systematic student-athlete eligibility grade manipulation. He has conducted proactive, crisis prevention investigations for public and private corporations and provided strategic crisis management counsel to corporate executives and public officials. Nichols also served as Vice President Corporate Affairs and General Counsel to the American Basketball League, taught sports law at the University of California Hastings College of Law, and was Senior Counsel at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati and Hughes and Luce, LLP (now K&L Gates) in Dallas, Texas.
