Swedish furniture manufacturer Offecct has in cooperation with the cultural center USF Verftet and interior designer Örjan Djonne from Rambøll architects under a longer period worked to adjust and develop products to a development project of the arena.
USF Verftet is an arts arena for music, theater, film and modern art in Bergen, Norway. USF was established in 1993 and is an important actor within arts and culture in Bergen and Norway with the aim of collaborating, strengthening and participating in the development of culture and creativity.
Offecct will deliver a specially designed chair by Norwegian designers Steinar Hindenes and Petter Knutsen.
– When we were redoing the cultural center and making a bigger concert hall we wanted a new concert chair. The development has been a close process between us here at the cultural center, the designers and Offecct, says Jon Tvilde, Head of the cultural center.
– As clients we were allowed to participate in the development of the chair so that it would fulfill all our whishes. It has been an exciting and positive process, Jon Tvilde continues.
The order also consists of several products from Offecct such as the easy chairs King, Tinto and Oyster, the sofas Easy Block, Minima and Playback as well as the table Basic.
– The project has been characterized by challenges and by a fruitful collaboration, says Kurt Tingdal CEO Offecct AB.
– It is immensely stimulating when one has a dedicated client who has high demands on both cooperation and the final result. This way of working is completely in line with Offecct’s quest to work closely with clients, architects and partners, Kurt Tingdal continues.
Apart from the order from USF Verftet Offecct received an important order from the USA in the beginning of 2012. The order consisted of 1700 of the acoustic panel Soundwave Botanic, designed by recognized designer Mario Ruiz. The orders from the USA and Norway amount to 5 million SEK
