Gastonia, North Carolina (PRWEB) February 10, 2012
Alliance Bank & Trust, a North Carolina community bank with branches in Gastonia, Shelby, and Kings Mountain, announced today that the bank will donate a .34 acre parcel of property in Gaston County to the Charlotte-based Life Changing Church for a planned senior and community center there.
Alliance Bank & Trust President Dan Ayscue says that the property, located in a residential area, suffered neglect and foreclosure, but Ayscue says he hopes the donation will build momentum in the community and aid in the church's mission.
"Alliance has always been about commitment to the communities we serve and looking to find places where we can foster a positive impact." Ayscue said. "Rev. Wood and the Life Changing Church share those values, so we were happy that we could be part of helping them fulfill their goal of creating new community resources."
The church, led by Elder Dorothy Wood, hopes to use the property for construction of a multi-purpose facility including a senior day center.
"It's all about people. It's about letting them have a life," Wood said. "This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Alliance Bank. I believe this is about our prayers coming to fruition because we are all about community involvement."
The property will be formally transferred in February.
