IC9design, Inc. Announces New Services and Acquisition Milestones Achieved in 2011

IC9design, a leader in website design, development, and online marketing achieved several groundbreaking milestones in 2011 including the business acquisition of Creative Approaches, the introduction of several new staff members, and the addition of 40 new clients. The Rochester-area website design and internet marketing business continues to expand as they position themselves for further growth in 2012.

When Ian Caspersson, Owner and Creative Director of IC9design (IC9), left his job in 2006 to start his own website design and development business, his coworkers thought he was crazy. “I really just wanted to control my own destiny and take full advantage of my creativity,” noted Caspersson. “I knew a lot of other talented individuals who felt the same way I did, but sometimes jumping into the dark can be frightening. I’m just glad I had the stomach to take the gamble and follow my dreams with the support of my family and friends.”

It’s this willingness to take risks that makes IC9 the success story it is today. When IC9design launched in 2007, staff meetings were held at the kitchen table over spaghetti and meatballs. Within months, Ian refurnished the basement, creating a small office with three desks, an iPod dock, and just enough room for all three employees. Fast forward barely 2 years and that small room with no windows has become an office building in Bloomfield.

At the end of 2010, IC9design acquired neighboring Creative Approaches, a western NY based e-learning and internet development company. With Creative Approaches operating under the same roof, uniting both businesses was a simple task. Staff on both sides of the fence had already been playing ball at the same park and combining their talents into one team created instant synergy.

The unification of Creative Approaches and IC9design has doubled the amount of employees and allowed both businesses to nurture their existing client relationships as they continue to forge new ones. While Creative Approaches boasts custom Learning Management Systems, CBT development, and training expertise, IC9design completes the customer experience with mobile apps and mobile-ready websites, social media, beautifully designed websites, and internet marketing services. Even though the two businesses have only worked side-by-side for a little over a year, the collaborative efforts between the two netted 40 new clients in 2011 to add to their extended list of loyal customers.

“With the economy the way it’s been, I don’t see anything for businesses to do but transform, and that’s what we’ve done and that’s what we’ll continue to do for our clients” said Nathan Adamus, Media Specialist for IC9design. “Businesses are getting smaller and customers are tired of being treated like a number. Sure, we have a talented team onboard… I really think we’re the best at what we do… but more importantly, we enjoy working with people who have a vision and they genuinely enjoy working with us. Just because you’re small doesn’t mean you have to be invisible.”

Although IC9design maintains their small business attitude, their progress during 2011 was far from miniscule. They kicked off the year by enhancing their web technology and SEO services, which catapulted several of their clients from relative obscurity to the top of internet search pages. The team also expanded their marketing strategies to include mobile-ready websites, mobile apps, and social media.

“2011 was an incredible year for IC9,” said Caspersson. “The increased demand for intuitive, mobile-ready business solutions has been one factor in our growth, but I also believe that our customers are the biggest reason we continue to build.
