Instantis, the leading provider of on-demand Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) software used by IT and business process leaders to improve strategy execution through more effective work and resource management, will present “A Guide to Successful Business-Driven PMOs.” The presentation will take place at 10:30AM CST on February 15, 2012 at the CampIT IT Portfolio Management Conference in Chicago, IL.

John Filicetti, PMP and Instantis senior business process consultant and sales engineer, will lead the RMMM seminar. John has been PMO Director for Seattle Children's Hospital, WaMu Bank and T-Mobile USA. He has served on the board of his local PMI Chapter and serves as an instructor for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification course since 1998. He is also a key contributor to the popular PMO Starter Kit.

According to Mr. Filicetti, executives have never been more nervous about their organization’s ability to compete and survive in a world characterized by rapid change in competitive dynamics, business climate change, and customers that are constantly demanding more for less. “Staying the course, continuous improvement and even consistently strong operational performance is frequently not good enough anymore, said Mr. Filicetti. “Executives won’t sleep well at night until they are more comfortable with their organization’s speed and agility in terms of business strategy course adjustment and execution capabilities.”

Instantis believes that strategic projects, programs and initiatives are the agents of change within an organization. As a result, business-driven PMOs charged with enabling or delivering successful transformational projects and programs can make the difference between thriving organizations and those that fail to survive. The problem is that PPM initiatives and PMOs don’t have a consistent track record of success. Their failures can be traced to an inability to align PPM along six key dimensions of success. This presentation will define and contrast business-driven PMOs with traditional PMOs, describe the six critical business-alignment dimensions and offer some suggestions on how to get started with a business-driven PMO system.
