SF event created by and for entrepreneurs will benefit local microfinance organization, Opportunity Fund.

Picnic Dash Productions is excited to bring athletes, entrepreneurs, and mustache enthusiasts together with the inaugural 5k/ 5 mile ’Stache Dash on Saturday, February 25th in Golden Gate Park. This BYO mustache event rewards runners with raffle tickets when they cross the finish line, ’stache intact.

“We created this event to celebrate and support entrepreneurs in our community. San Francisco is one of the best cities in the country for entrepreneurs, and we’ve benefited from being a part of it”, said Leila Adell, Founder of Picnic Dash Productions.

Once the race is over, the celebration begins. The Pioneer Log Cabin picnic tables will be filled with locally produced drinks and desserts for Picnic Dash’s first birthday party. Over the last year, the small business has hosted five other themed running parties, ranging in size from the inaugural Picnic Dash with ten participants to the sold-out New Year’s Eve Dash with over 200.

Picnic Dash is based out of the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in San Francisco. As a small business, the company aims to help other small businesses grow. That’s why this event will benefit Opportunity Fund, a local nonprofit that provides microloans for small businesses, as well as matched savings accounts and community real estate financing.

“We’re excited to raise money and awareness for Opportunity Fund. They’ve helped create thousands of success stories by investing over $200 million into local communities”, added Adell, who is a frequent volunteer for the nonprofit.

Businesses that have benefited from Opportunity Fund, like Bu Tong Acupuncture, Outerlands Restaurant, and Day Dream Massage, have donated gift cards for the post-race raffle. The top three male and female finishers in each race will win prizes as well.
