The Case In Point Learning Network Combines Industry-Leading Publication with Continuing Education Hours

To meet the demands of case managers and care coordination professionals, who are at the center of the movement toward patient-centered care, cost containment, and quality improvement initiatives, Dorland Health announces the debut of the Case In Point Learning Network – a first-of-its-kind continuing education endeavor that combines a new and improved Case In Point publication with continuing education opportunities available through a cutting-edge online portal.

Through recent disruptive forces in healthcare, like health reform and the HITECH Act, the industry is in a state of rapid change. This is not lost on the case management community, according to Anne Llewellyn, RN-BC, MS, BHSA, CCM, CRRN, editor in chief of Case In Point.

“Due to all of this change, healthcare professionals need the most up-to-date knowledge, news, analysis and best practices that are creating a quality difference in care delivery,” said Llewellyn. “Care coordination professionals in particular needed a timely and quality resource.”

A trusted resource for healthcare professionals for 10 years, the Case In Point publication has undergone a redesign and an increase in its frequency of delivery to meet this need. Case In Point is now delivered on a monthly basis to provide information that meets the demands of the leadership of organizations and professionals at the point of care. Case In Point is part of an online Learning Network from Dorland Health that includes various mediums that deliver information required continuation education credits in a quick and efficient way.

“It is our goal to fulfill Case In Point’s mission to deliver information, tools, resources and education that allow professionals to provide effective care coordination across the health care continuum. Case In Point’s monthly schedule allows us to showcase best practices, new models of care, and key solutions to daily challenges frequently,” said Llewellyn.

There are two levels of the Case In Point Learning Network: the Professional level and the Premium level. As a part of the Professional Network, subscribers receive 12 monthly issues of Case In Point, 48 pre-approved continuing education credits, a PDF of the magazine and access to an enhanced digital edition of Case In Point. The Premium Network includes all of the benefits of the professional level, but includes more benefits such as the opportunity to get 66 total CEs through two select Dorland Health webinars and special reports, and a discount to the Care Coordination Summit.

“2012 will be a pivotal year in the changing tides of patient management and Case In Point is leading the way to provide care coordination professionals the resources, news and tools they need to stay ahead of the changes,” said Llewellyn.
