The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) will be honored with four awards at the upcoming National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) 2012 Convention & Exposition

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) will be honored with four awards at the upcoming National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) 2012 Convention & Exposition, to be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville February 18-21.

CBN, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of its first television broadcast in 2011, will receive the prestigious NRB Milestone Award, honoring the industry pioneers who brought Christian communications to the place of respect and achievement it enjoys today.

“For 50 years, CBN has evangelized and discipled new believers through media and also involved the faithful in humanitarian aid and relief efforts,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “Through television and online video evangelism outreaches, as well as medical and disaster relief efforts, CBN has faithfully served as the hands and feet of Christ.”

CBN will also be honored for its website,, which will be awarded the NRB Best Broadcast Website Award for the third year in a row. This award recognizes the website of a Christian radio or television station that shows excellence in design and content, is creative in presentation, and is effective in helping fulfill the broadcaster’s mission. In 2011, received some 15.8 million unique visitors and 2.4 million visits per month. CBN’s flagship program in North America and one of the longest running programs in broadcast history, The 700 Club will be honored with the NRB Best Television Talk Show Award, presented to a talk show that deals with important issues of the day; has guests who are engaging, authoritative and able to communicate effectively; engages the culture in a compelling way; demonstrates fidelity to the Word of God (including sound doctrine and biblical teaching); and demonstrates an ability to embrace other ministry organizations in an effort to expand a Christ-centered influence in the culture.

Finally, CBN will be awarded with the NRB Best Television Teaching Program Award for another show, 700 Club Interactive, hosted by Gordon Robertson and Terry Meeuwsen. This award recognizes creative use of the teaching format, adherence to sound doctrine and biblical integrity as stated in the NRB Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics, and unique innovation in presentation of the Gospel.
