Cameron Village Shopping Center Promotes Women's Heart Health

Free gift with purchase supports heart health for women in partnership with Cameron Village and Wake Med.

How often can you offer customers an opportunity to improve their health, enjoy shopping and get a free gift—all at the same time? Cameron Village teams up with Wake Med to do just that from February 1 through 14! Heart Disease is the number one killer of women in the United States, according to Medline Plus, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health . Wake Med and Cameron Village are partnering to increase awareness of the issue. An active element for shoppers and visitors, step distances will be posted throughout the Village so shoppers and walkers can measure their count toward 10,000 steps, an important part of cardio health.

Shoppers collect $250 in shopping receipts from throughout the village (groceries, ABC Store and Rite Aid not included) and redeem them for a free gift—on the spot! Shoppers have three exceptional choices:

  •     Silver link bracelet w/ heart charm from Bailey’s Fine Jewelry,
  •     Riverton wrap with pocket/button detail from Daphne’s Hallmark,
  •     Jonathon Adler iPod case from bevello.

Promotion with a major community health provider partner is a sound choice for both Wake Med and Cameron Village. Finding new and effective ways to reach out to women about heart health is critical to improving women’s outcomes. Heart problems in women often do not mimic the more well known symptoms exhibited by men, so sharing the information and focusing attention on women’s heart health is an important need in every community. Cameron Village uses their capacity to reach the public and has the opportunity for a Valentine’s Day promotion with a cause.
