Briggs Auto Dealerships Plan to Expand in Lawrence with New Buildings and Wind Turbine

Briggs’ officials have filed plans to install a wind turbine and use new space for vehicle sales in Lawrence, KS

Briggs Auto group and Briggs Chrysler, one of the leading Lawrence, KS Chrysler dealerships, is planning on expanding their presence in the Lawrence Auto Plaza in Lawrence, Kansas. Recently officials for Briggs filed plans at Lawrence City Hall that would enable the auto group to install a wind turbine on the median of West 29th Terrace in Lawrence. In addition to this, they also would use the entire median on West 29th Terrace to display new vehicles for sale. Vehicle advertising signs would also be allowed to be attached to street poles in the median.

The focal point of the operation will be the wind turbine that will be located around halfway down 29th Terrace. The turbine would be used to provide electricity for the Auto Plaza in Lawrence. Briggs has already provided plans and drawings for the proposed plan.

These recent plans show that Briggs Auto, which is originally based out of Manhattan, is planning on using the Lawrence market as part of its’ future business. This year Briggs Subaru had a new showroom built and the Lawrence Nissan dealership will be getting a new showroom as well. In the future a new Chrysler showroom will be built as well.

Lawrence city commissioners will be briefed on the proposed project on February 21st. The Briggs Auto group is hopeful that they will be able to bring even more auto business to the local economy and help provide Lawrence, KS with more opportunities.
