Scout & Zoe's is awarded the Pet Age Green Spirit award

“We are honored and extremely grateful to be recognized for having a product that pet owners can feel good about buying."

Scout & Zoe’s Natural Antler Dog Chews aren’t just good for your pet – they’re also good for the planet.

That’s according to PET AGE magazine, which recently announced that Scout & Zoe’s Nibblet chews for small animals are being honored with a Green Spirit Award in recognition of their positive impact on the environment. The award will be formally announced in PET AGE’s Green Spirit Issue, scheduled for publication in April.

“This is the inaugural year for our Green Spirit Awards, and we’re thrilled to recognize eco-friendly pet products that feature Earth-friendly materials and packaging, plus other unique product details,” says Michelle Peterson, senior editorial director for PET AGE.

Scout & Zoe's Nibblets are wonderful for all small animals to keep their teeth and beaks in check. Like all of Scout & Zoe’s natural antler products, they are allergy free and a green, organic, renewable resource.

“From the beginning we have always wanted to be sure our product was a treat for the planet as well as a treat for dogs and other animals,” says Cindy Dunston Quirk, owner and developer of Scout & Zoe’s.

“We are honored and extremely grateful to be recognized for having a product that pet owners can feel good about buying.”

Nibblets are designed for birds, gerbils, rabbits, rodents or any other small animal. Like all of Scout & Zoe’s chews, they are crafted from 100 percent naturally shed, premium USA elk antlers. As the animals chew on a Scout & Zoe's Nibblet, the chew grinds into a powder that contains nutritious minerals and is completely eco-friendly.

A relatively new addition to the Scout & Zoe’s lineup, Nibblets are identical in every way to the original dog chews except in size.

“Nibblets have been a great addition to our menu because they enable us to use even more parts of the elk antler, reducing the amount of waste,” says Cindy. “Unlike other products available for this kind of pet, our chews are very well tolerated and owners can feel good in the knowledge of where they came from.”

About Scout & Zoe’s: Scout & Zoe’s Natural Antler Chews, which come in a variety of sizes for dogs and other animals, are gathered only after they’ve been shed naturally as part of the elk’s life cycle.

Antler chews are the right choice for the 15 to 20 percent of dogs who suffer from allergies to beef, chicken or have other digestive issues. They’re a safer choice because antler chews won’t splinter like bones. Owners like them because they don’t wind up in a gooey mess like rawhide and best of all they take away the need for pets to chew on furniture, shoes and other things around the house.

Scout & Zoe’s are superior to other chews in helping dogs maintain clean, healthy teeth and contain trace minerals such as calcium and phosphorous which add to the pet’s overall health.

Typically lasting four to six weeks, Scout & Zoe’s chews are available in a variety of sizes to suit every breed. No animals are harmed and no violence is imposed on any elk during the gathering of the antlers.
