Duluth, GA (PRWEB) February 14, 2012
The spirit of giving was in full-force with local Discovery Point families this past holiday season. The Atlanta area Salvation Army was overjoyed to announce that they collected 1,007 coats for the Coats 4 Kids drive hosted by Georgia Discovery Point Child Care Centers.
The number of coats collected by Discovery Point far exceeded The Salvation Army’s expectations. Most importantly, nearly all the coats collected appeared to be brand-new or hardly worn at all, which is rare. “Unfortunately, a lot of the coats The Salvation Army usually receives are not in the best condition, so you can just imagine how ecstatic everyone was to see the unbelievable quality of the coats coming in,” said Cindy Siegel, director of operations for Discovery Point Franchising. “We can’t thank the families at Discovery Point and the Q100 Listeners enough for their kindness and generosity.”
The Salvation Army will now distribute the coats collected to less fortunate children across Georgia. For more information on how you can contribute to the Atlanta Salvation Army, visit their website at http://www.salvationarmy-georgia.org/Display.asp?Page=home.
