Tresys Technology today announced the award of the Next Generation Filtering Project (NGF) contract from the U.S. Government to deliver Cross Domain Solution (CDS) improvement support. The project supports the development of a comprehensive approach to defending the U.S. Government information and digital communications infrastructure.

Our experience and expertise in CDSs and in policy development make us the perfect partner for the Government

The contract has a value of more than $12M, including all option years, through October 2015, with all deliveries to be completed by September 30, 2016. Under the contract, Tresys will provide vital support to the Government’s development of guidance for data inspection, sanitization, and transfer, software filters for computer file types and protocols, and supporting components. This guidance will be used to enable the development of deep content inspection and sanitization engines required for robust enterprise CDSs. Enterprise CDSs are crucial components for the security of classified networks and are required to enable and protect the exchange of information between networks operating at different classification levels. Cross domain solutions are also used to enforce network security policies which aid in preventing unauthorized release of data and in defending against external attacks.

“Tresys is extremely honored to be selected as the prime contractor for the NGF award,” said Tresys CEO Gary Latham. “Our experience and expertise in CDSs and in policy development make us the perfect partner for the Government as they develop and deliver the guidance developers and testers need to perform comprehensive and effective inspection and sanitization of computer files and data protocols that pass through CDSs, ultimately reinforcing the security of the nation’s classified infrastructure.”

Tresys has a proven track record for innovating and applying advanced technologies to quickly solve the needs of customers who require agility and responsiveness to meet their security requirements.
