Street Toyota Scion Will Offer High School Seniors Chance at Scholarship

Street Toyota Scion of Amarillo is giving away two scholarships to two high school seniors in the Panhandle. The amount of the scholarships is $1,000.


“This is a great way to help out students, especially when money is sometimes scarce for families sending their teens to college,” Mike Good, General Manager at Street Toyota said.

Street Toyota Scion of Amarillo is giving away two scholarships to two high school students attending any of the 26 Panhandle counties. The amount of the scholarships $1,000 each and the money will be deposited directly into the students’ college account.

“This is a great way to help out students, especially when money is sometimes scarce for families sending their teens to college,” Mike Good, General Manager at Street Toyota said.

Students who would like to participate in the chance to win the scholarships must complete an application, write an essay, and provide two letters of recommendation by faculty as well as a copy of their transcript to Street Toyota Scion in Amarillo no later than March 31, 2012 via US Postal service.

The students who apply must write an essay explaining how they and their family are creating a better environment. They may also wish to include how their efforts are coinciding with what Toyota’s new line of eco-friendly cars are doing to help the environment.

The winners of the scholarships and the high school they attend will be notified by April 30, 2012.

“We encourage all students to apply,” Good said. “There is nothing better than giving back to the community, especially when it is to further someone’s education.”

Street Toyota in Amarillo, Texas was established in 1982. A new 58,000 square foot facility on 9 acres is now open at 45th and Soncy.
