Falmouth, MA (PRWEB) February 13, 2012
Tim Leedham, the founder and owner of Bosun’s Marine Mashpee, Mashpee Neck Marina Mashpee and Bosun’s Marine Peabody, recently announced the purchase of the former Edwards Boatyard in Falmouth, Cape Cod, MA. The new Falmouth acquisition, which has an extensive infrastructure of service buildings and a deep water marina, as well as Rte. 28 highway frontage, will enable Bosun’s Marine to further expand its sales and service of smaller boats, right up through Yachts, for throughout New England.
Leedham’s new location, to be called Bosun’s Marine Falmouth, located at 1209 East Falmouth Highway (Rte. 28), had been operating as Edwards Boatyard since the 1940s. Prior to that and as far back as the late 1890s, the site was used for the handcrafting and service of wooden sail and early power boats. Nearly all of the former employees of Edwards Boatyard have been rehired by Bosun’s.
Bosun’s Marine, a current Top 25 Selectee by Boating Industry Magazine in their annual “Top 100 Dealers” of North America Review, offers eight leading brands of new powerboats from 14’ to 75’, used boats and, of course, expert service. Three of Bosun’s eight boat brands, Robalo Fishing Boats, Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts and Cutwater Cruising Boats will be transferred immediately to Bosun’s Marine Falmouth from the Mashpee flagship location. Other brands carried by Bosun’s include: Chaparral Sport and Signature Cruising Boats, Cruisers Yachts, EdgeWater Power Boats, Pursuit Boats and Riviera Yachts.
Bosun’s flagship store, located in Mashpee, has grown over 27 years from a modest marine accessories store into one of the largest volume boat sales and service dealership locations in all New England. In 2001 Leedham purchased a local competitor/marina on Popponesset Bay, Mashpee and renamed the property Mashpee Neck Marina. It now operates as a close affiliate of Bosun’s Marine Mashpee. February of 2005 brought the opening of Bosun’s Marine Peabody, located on Rte. 1, just north of Boston, MA. Bosun’s Marine Peabody exhibits up to 30 boats at a time inside in one of the largest finished showrooms in New England. Bosun’s Marine Peabody has now become, in its own right, a leading New England dealership. Bosun’s Peabody also conveniently displays its larger Chaparrals, Cruisers Yachts, Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts and Riviera Yachts at Ship Yard Quarters in downtown Boston.
Leedham explains that, as Bosun’s continues its growth; “…we continuously strive to improve on who we are and on the services we provide but our core values will always remain the same; treat the customer sincerely and with gratitude, offer superior products with outstanding value and provide service that exceeds expectations.”
