Mariemont can add a new retail store to its list. One Mode, located in the strand at 6800 Wooster Pike, Store 1A in Mariemont, Ohio, will celebrate its grand opening to the public in style on Saturday, February 25th from 10AM to 6PM. The VIP Opening event will take place on Friday, February 24th from 6PM to 9PM, where shoppers will enjoy champagne, cupcakes, and get a peak at the selection of the latest fashions in stylish dresses, including new designers to the Cincinnati area. B&M, the Cincy Style Edit duo featured on Channel 9/WCPO-TV, will be on hand to assist One Mode's clientele in selecting their perfect dress. During the VIP event, shoppers will also have the opportunity to shop for a good cause – 10% of the proceeds of the sale of each dress will go to non-profit “The Cure Starts Now Foundation,” which will hold its annual gala event on March 3rd.
One Mode, located less than half a mile from the prestigious Indian Hill Township in the heart of Mariemont, is decorated in French industrial motif with premier designers and services of old. Boutique owners, Robin Goldberg and Rose Tilford, were motivated to open One Mode because they wanted to offer Cincinnati consumers a more personal shopping experience from a wider range of premier designers.
“It was important for me to create an easy shopping experience where the people of Cincinnati can have access to the same designers as I did in NYC,” said Tilford, a native New Yorker who lives in the Indian Hill area of Cincinnati with her husband Brad Tilford, Vice Chair of MGMT One, and three children.
According to Goldberg, “I wanted my customers to feel as if they were stepping into their closet away from home and with their very own personal stylist, who not only understands the importance of finding a beautiful dress, but also making sure that dress enhances their own beauty.”
One Mode is an oasis of beautiful evening attire, with many fashionable styles by top designers that include Vera Wang Lavender, Mark + James for Badgley Mischka, Kay Unger, Monique Lhuiller, Theia, Stevie Mac, Badgley Mischka, and Carmen Marc Valvo. All garments range in various colors and fabrics, and tailored to enhance every woman’s unique beauty. Each style has limited sizes to prevent the unimaginable experience of facing another person in the same dress.
Goldberg, a native Cincinnatian, who resides with her two daughters and husband Brian Goldberg, President of MGMT One Sports Division, site Mariemont’s popularity due to its charming setting, reminiscent of an English shopping center. Mariemont is known to be one of the first planned communities in the United States, and in 2007 the Village became a National Historic Landmark. Mariemont is located a few miles east from Cincinnati, Ohio. Neighboring villages include Terrace Park, Fairfax, Columbia Township and Indian Hill. Much of the business activity in these areas are small, quaint, with upscale shopping boutiques geared to a young, old, and professional demographic.
“I wanted our store to be closer to the city,” said Tilford. “Mariemont’s convenient location and thriving shopping scene sealed the deal for us.”
