In a month when New Year’s resolutions traditionally fall by the wayside, staff at luxury travel firm Scott Dunn (http://www.scottdunn.com) have broken something else this January – the company’s all-time sales records.
In contrast with the challenging outlook and disappointing bookings for mainstream travel businesses, January 2012 was Scott Dunn’s most successful sales month since the company was founded in 1986. January’s sales smashed Scott Dunn’s previous monthly record by more than 30 percent, and included a new record for weekly sales, itself 30 percent higher than Scott Dunn’s previous all-time high.
Scott Dunn also set a new record this January for number of bookings, which beat the company’s previous monthly record by more than 35 percent, and sales enquiries, which were fully 40 percent higher than any previous month. Scott Dunn’s previous booking and enquiry records were set only in 2011, making the past two years a high point in the company’s growth.
Andrew Dunn, Scott Dunn’s founder director, says: “In these pressured times, holidays are seen as increasingly sacrosanct, which makes it even more important that people enjoy the best possible break, especially at the top end of the market. To ensure all enquiries are managed in the best possible way, Scott Dunn has extended its opening hours for the peak booking period, and invested in expanding its expert sales teams so every enquiry is managed as swiftly as possible.
Dunn continues: “Whilst we’ve never been busier, we have put the measures in place to ensure the level of enquiries we have to manage does not compromise the quality of service we deliver. We’ve had a great start to 2012, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We are committed to constant improvement, and will continue to invest in all the areas that matter most to our guests.
