"One of the most authentic ways to demonstrate respect for our customers is to really listen to them," said Annette Grotz, Marketing Manager at Windward.

In honor of Valentine's Day, enterprise reporting software giant Windward has updated its “Ideas webpage”, where valued customers go to request new features, submit feedback on planned implementations, and vote for their favorite requests. Found at http://ideas.windward.net/, the Ideas page contains the top suggested improvements to AutoTag, Windward's reporting and document generation solution that allows users to create report templates in Microsoft Office.

"One of the most authentic ways to demonstrate respect for our customers is to really listen to them," said Annette Grotz, Marketing Manager at Windward. "You can see this in action on the Ideas page, where we hear and share what they want to see in our solutions. “We’re absolutely thrilled with the communication and love the results."

Visitors can browse through suggestions – organized into hottest, newest and most popular categories – or submit their own. Each suggestion includes a brief description, comments section, and the popular “Vote” button. Suggestions also include information on their status, and ones currently being implemented display a progress bar.

"From the beginning our customers have been involved in helping improve our products," said David Thielen, Windward's founder and CTO. "They've helped guide us through our company's evolution, and we're really grateful for their input."

Top trending items include tips for enhancing the design interface, ideas for making the template creation process even faster, and recommendations for streamlining access to customer data. For example, one popular suggestion to improve the wizard for accessing data stored in an XML file is now planned and will allow users more flexibility in putting live data into reports. Past suggestions have resulted in additional output format support, enhanced equations and functions, and improved display of imported content.

The Ideas page is complemented by the Business Intelligence Functionality suggestions page. For more information on the suite of ideas pages, please visit http://ideas.windward.net.

About Windward
Windward offers business intelligence, enterprise reporting, document generation and Web-based business intelligence solutions. Launched in 2002, Windward is the only full-featured, robust Java and .NET engine to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as a layout tool, putting template design and report and document generation power in the hands of the end user. Any Office user can easily and securely create reports and documents with almost no learning curve. Additionally, OEMs and VARs use Windward’s reporting component.

Windward works by merging any XML, SQL or custom data source—or any combination thereof—with a Microsoft Office report template. It feeds data into the template to create a what-you-see-is-what-you-get report or document that can be generated in DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, HTML, direct to printer, RTF, XLS, WordML, TXT, and CSV. Windward runs as a standalone application or in an enterprise computing environment. Also unique, Windward implements in hours, offers affordable server-based pricing, and offers “prompt, fantastic” technical support via a 24/7 support forum and support contracts. A free trial of Windward's products is available at http://www.windward.net.

The Windward user group spans 70 countries. User applications include financial statements, inventory reports, product-usage reports, purchase orders, invoices, training certificates, timesheets, and licenses.
