Synagro has been an integral business partner in our community for more than 20 years, and we are thankful for its ongoing commitment to our residents.

Synagro Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of waste capture and conversion services, announced today it made a donation of $5,000 to the River Island Park Ice Skating Rink in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Synagro’s contribution will be used toward general maintenance of the rink, helping it to remain a free facility for residents and visitors to enjoy all winter.

“Synagro has been an integral business partner in our community for more than 20 years, and we are thankful for its ongoing commitment to our residents,” said Woonsocket Mayor Leo Fontaine. “We rely on contributions from organizations like Synagro to keep community facilities like the River Island Park Ice Skating Rink operating without cost to visitors, and we appreciate their donation to help keep it thriving this winter.”

The Woonsocket River Island Park Ice Skating Rink was built in 1999 as a free outdoor facility, making the park a year-round attraction. The contribution from Synagro will help maintain several aspects of the facility such as the refrigeration system that keeps the ice hard during warm weather, the lighting system that enables night skating, a wood-burning stove and concession stands.

“Synagro is proud to support the communities in which we operate, and our relationship with the City of Woonsocket is very important to us,” said Pamela Racey, Vice President of Development, Synagro. “We are always looking for ways that we can help enhance the quality of life for Woonsocket residents while improving their surrounding environment.”
