Career Quest Learning Centers announced today that they will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 8 at the newly expanded Jackson Campus located at 209 E. Washington Avenue. The Jackson Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event. The event is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the ribbon cutting at 5:00 p.m. followed by speakers and a tour of the expanded campus.
The campus opened in November of 2007 with 4600 square feet. Construction and renovation to utilize 17,400 square feet adjacent to the Career Quest’s existing campus in Jackson began December 1. Career Quest began offering classes in the new space on February 1. Career Quest Learning Centers offer comprehensive career training focused on employment.
“We’ve noticed a higher energy level from our students who are now enjoying new classrooms and an expanded student lounge,” said Mark Baker, Business Development Manager at Career Quest Learning Centers in Jackson. “We hope that the expansion will allow us to serve more students who can contribute to our community in meaningful ways.”
Career Quest’s Jackson campus has served over 900 students since it opened in 2007. Last November, prior to the expansion, 92 students graduated after completing programs in health care, information technology or business. With the expansion, the school can serve more students each term. Recently the University of Michigan and local Jackson employers Hillsdale Family Practice and Dr. Matt Rosenberg have hired Career Quest graduates.
Career Quest’s Jackson campus offers a variety health care, information technology and business programs. Career Quest students at the Jackson campus can enroll, take classes and complete all of any required lab work for medical programs in one convenient location. Some of the Career Quest programs offer externships with local Jackson employers to provide valuable career experience in the field.
“We just launched the new Health Information Technology program and plan to add other programs that serve the employers needs in Jackson,” said Baker. “We continue to work on growing our current partnerships with business leaders and we are ambitiously pursuing new relationships to meet needs and train members of our community for meaningful employment.”
