With the new cell phone ban, Prime Trailer Leasing has moved to hands free radio devices for their drivers. Though Prime Trailer Leasing is primarily a semi trailer sales and rental company with branches in Colorado and Utah, it does employ commercial drivers for trailer delivery and relocation. The new ruling written by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration prevents drivers from talking on, texting, dialing, or even reaching for a cell phone while operating a vehicle. Prime Trailer Leasing has given its commercial drivers Nextel hands free radio devices to use for communication while moving semi trailers.

Distracted driving is a leading cause of accidents, and given the size and capacity of a truck hauling a semi trailer, it only makes sense for all precautions to be taken. Safety is a huge priority at this trailer rental company, and if they have drivers on the road they want to comply with all regulations set forth by the FMCSA. Prime Trailer Leasing also likes to remind its customer’s drivers not to use cell phones while driving when they come to pick up trailers. “It’s just a continuation of our ‘Relationships Matter’ vision”, employee Emily Rayburn comments, “Showing our employees, customers, and just the general community that we care about safety on the road means we care about people and people matter over anything else.”
