SiXiTS, a new-media production company, today announced their partnership with Doug Chiang Studio and Academy Award® Winner Doug Chiang as well as their first project together. The creative team will work together to develop a mobile game for portable platforms entitled ROBOTA: Vengeance as the first step in a partnership that looks to bring the ROBOTA universe to the world. The initial game will be funded with the help of a Kickstarter campaign that is looking to raise $100,000 by March 12, 2012.

ROBOTA: Vengeance is going to be a phenomenal cutting edge experience for mobile devices, that we are excited to bring to life with Doug. And, kickstart, literally, with the help of backers.

“Given the huge success DoubleFine had this past week in raising funds through Kickstarter, we wanted to open up our project directly to the community,” said Euan Macdonald, CEO of SiXiTS. “Having designed many films including Star Wars Episode 1 and 2, Doug Chiang has developed a universe that could be the next major sci-fi franchise, and we want to give people an opportunity to participate in the first game built in his world of ROBOTA.”

Anyone looking to have input and insight into the creation of a high end video game experience produced by world class creatives, is being given the opportunity to do just that with the ROBOTA: Vengeance project on Kickstarter.

The world and game is designed by Academy Award® Winner, Doug Chiang, who’s credits include Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace and Star Wars Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones and most recently A Christmas Carol, Polar Express and Beowulf. ROBOTA has many of the creative qualities and awe inspiring visuals that Doug has created for the likes of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis in his 20+ years in the film business.

Now it is Doug’s turn to have his creation brought to life in collaboration with Euan Macdonald and the skilled team at SiXiTS Studios.

“I have been fortunate to work with Doug on numerous occasions, including on Star Wars Episode 1, and most recently on A Christmas Carol,” continued Macdonald. “ROBOTA: Vengeance is going to be a phenomenal cutting edge experience for mobile devices, that we are excited to bring to life with Doug. And, kickstart, literally, with the help of backers. Kickstarter is providing an excellent opportunity for independent developers to seek funding and also collaborate directly with backers to create the games and products they want to buy. ”
