Full VMware vFabric Environment Deploys in Minutes on Enterprise-grade Cloud, Ideal for Enterprise Java Apps

"This blueprint offers a fast onramp to the benefits of vFabric combined with the enterprise class services in the Tier 3 platform," said Jared Wray, Tier 3 CTO.

Tier 3, Inc., the enterprise cloud platform provider, is making it even easier for enterprise developers to build, run and manage modern, high performance and data-intensive Java applications in its cloud platform. With the Tier 3 Starter Kit Blueprint for VMware vFabric, developers can deploy a best-practice optimized, complete environment containing all the components of the VMware vFabric™ Cloud Application Platform to the Tier 3 cloud platform in minutes. Developers can then tap into this runtime environment, which is optimized for Spring, to quickly deploy and run web-oriented, data-intensive and dynamic applications from a true enterprise-class cloud platform.

Tier 3’s Starter Kit Blueprint is a deployment template of a fully optimized vFabric Cloud Application Platform environment which is easily installed in minutes via the Tier 3 Cloud’s orchestration toolset, a standard Tier 3 cloud feature. The vFabric Cloud Application Platform’s proven runtime components, including tc Server based on Apache Tomcat, an Apache Web Server, RabbitMQ™, data components like GemFire®, and Spring development framework, enable enterprise web applications to handle dynamic and unpredictable spikes in traffic and incorporate social media and new data types. Enterprise developers now have a public or virtual private cloud deployment option that meets stringent IT Ops requirements as each deployment is fully monitored and managed automatically and benefits from Tier 3’s standard enterprise-grade functionality and features – such as high availability, disaster recovery, security, and compliance. Once deployed, the environment can be modified to developer-specific requirements.

“Enterprise developers deploying Java apps benefit from the simplified deployment experience, the ability to utilize system resources more efficiently and the unparalleled insight into the performance of applications that come with the VMware vFabric™ Cloud Application Platform” said Jared Wray, Tier 3 chief technology officer. “This blueprint offers a fast onramp to the benefits of vFabric combined with the enterprise class services in the Tier 3 platform – helping to meet the needs of both operations and development teams.”

“With more than three million developers using the Spring framework to build enterprise Java applications, the VMware vFabric™ Cloud Application Platform offers them a runtime environment ideal for virtual infrastructures and designed for the needs of modern applications,” said Jerry Chen, vice president of cloud and application services, VMware. "The availability of this starter kit blueprint on the Tier 3 cloud can enable developers to leverage the flexibility and utility of an enterprise-grade VMware vCloud®-powered cloud service."
