Ascom UK (Ltd) will be demonstrating their on-site mission-critical communication solutions at IOSH 2012 Conference and Exhibition.

When working within a hazardous environment the need for a quicker response and better communication is essential. The security and safety of staff is priority and the ability to locate someone immediately and respond to an incident is critical.

Ascom (UK) Ltd will be showcasing their on-site wireless communication products and solutions from 6th – 7th March at IOSH 2012 Conference and Exhibition. The event will be held at Manchester Central and will feature a range of Ascom's portfolio, from their IP65 rated Ascom d81 robust phone with alarm capabilities to location detection solutions for lone-workers.

Ascom’s location detection solution enables the location of an individual to be established when they activate an alarm. The alarm can then be sent to a central control room and or a team via their Ascom phones or Pagers. This is a solution which is already being used in manufacturing plants where staff are sparsely located. Besides providing the location of an individual, it also opens up the channels of communication and allows for the ‘listening in’ of a situation as it occurs; a feature which is proving to be crucial in secure establishments.

Ascom’s intrinsically safe phones are based on their Ascom d81 IP-DECT phone which provides users with not only a robust phone but also an ATEX approved product. Working in intrinsic rated environments has always posed problems of ensuring safe operation. Ascom can provide a range of Handsets across its main communication platforms that are fully compliant with ATEX Standards and are labelled so.

The Ascom d81 IP-DECT phone is boasted as Ascom’s most robust phone yet, designed around the concept of being able to provide optimal user protection in rugged environments the Ascom d81 is a piece of equipment that can be relied upon. The Ascom d81 features advanced alarm functions like a man-down and no-movement alarms, silent assistance option and alarm prioritisation.
