“We wanted to develop an instrument cable that sounds great, is flexible, and built like a tank. That’s precisely what we’ve done with American Stage," says Brian Vance, Dir. of Product Management, D'Addario.

D’Addario is proud to announce Planet Waves’ American Stage cables were named winners of Winter NAMM’s Best in Show “Gotta Stock It” Category; Best in Show Awards are part of a NAMM University educational program featuring six panelists who represent single-store operations, small- to mid-sized chains and one of the industry’s top trade magazines.
Recipient of the “Gotta Stock It” category, Planet Waves’ American Stage cables have been designed and manufactured in the U.S. This special cable features Planet Waves’ exclusive In=Out technology for optimum signal transparency, 180-degree solder joints for superior conductivity and strength, and the exclusively patented Geo-Tip design for improved fit in all jacks.
Planet Waves American Stage instrument cables are built from the ground up to ensure perfect tone every time. The custom designed, made in the U.S.A. wire reproduces full lows and rich highs, accurately transferring true tone with clarity and noise free operation. The 22AWG Oxygen Free copper center provides enhanced signal transfer, while 95% tinned copper braid and conductive PVC under jacket provides excellent electromagnetic interference rejection and no handling noise. The in-line solder process utilizes modern micro flame technology and specially formulated RoHS compliant solder to create a permanent bond between wire and connector, creating unsurpassed strain relief and durability. The connectors are designed by Planet Waves and built by Neutrik in their state-of-the-art facility in Lichtenstein, using the highest quality components available. The flexible cable construction provides reduced tangling, effortless handling and uncoils easily. Finally, the innovative patented Geo-Tip provides a seamless and secure connection in any instrument, pedal or amp jack.
The Best in Show panelists offered views on the best companies, products and services they saw during the 2012 NAMM Show. Nearly 250 attendees listened as the panelists were asked to discuss their top choices in four categories:
-Something Small-A great product that's either small in size or small in price.
-Gotta Stock It-A product that retailers want to stock right now, if they haven't already got it.
-Companies to Watch-Exhibitors that have made a difference with trend-setting products or services.
-Best In Show-The best product or service that panelists saw at NAMM.
This year, the panelists consisted of Gayle Beacock, Vic Salazar, Steve Fortner, Tim Pratt, Jonathan Lipp and Chris Basile, with each telling about their picks in four categories.
“It feels great to get recognized for our hard work with this new cable!” says Brian Vance, D’Addario’s Director of Product Management. “We wanted to develop an instrument cable that sounds great, is flexible, and built like a tank. That’s precisely what we’ve done with American Stage.”
