Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) February 15, 2012
SparkPeople.com is pleased to announce that it received more than 10.2 million unique visitors across its sites in January, according to Google Analytics, extending its position as America's largest diet and fitness site with a more than 50 percent year-over-year increase in unique visitors.
In addition, SparkPeople.com, which was called "The Facebook of Dieting" by Fortune and "The Online Program That Works" on the cover of Good Housekeeping, added more than 330,000 new members in January via its website and mobile applications. SparkPeople.com's mobile applications are experiencing rapid growth in unique visitors and engagement. In October 2011, a study by Duke and George Washington Universities ranked SparkPeople's iPhone application #1 out of 204 surveyed.
"While reaching ten million unique visitors is a significant milestone for our business, it's even more gratifying that SparkPeople.com is attracting record numbers of people seeking to reach their goals, improve their health and change their lives," said SparkPeople.com's Founder and CEO Chris Downie. "As they transition to healthier, sustainable lifestyles, our members repeatedly tell us that they love the fact that our program is free and flexible, and that for the first time, they're actually having fun losing weight. That's one of the main reasons why SparkPeople.com is both unique and number one."
