PartyFoul, a mobile app that puts a new twist on social gaming, launches today with a series of high profile local partnerships. The first product from LA-based app studio Big Pretzel, PartyFoul lets you tag your friends for their social exploits both good and bad. Spilled a drink? Give them a Foul. Now they bought a round for the table? That’s worth a Kudos. All these Fouls and Kudos add up to your “Reputation.”
The game is based in part on the concept of social networks like Facebook being too serious to taint with content that might look bad to family members or potential employers. “We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we felt people like us were pretty underrepresented within the tech space,” said co-founder Marc Chambers.
PartyFoul was designed around real social behaviors and provides users with a fun, low-impact way to share these silly moments with their friends. With well over 1,000 possible Fouls and Kudos (so far), players have plenty of options to comment on their friends’ behaviors.

PartyFoul players at partner locations will receive custom experiences tailored to that brand’s location.
PartyFoul is just the beginning for Big Pretzel. “We are placing a heavy emphasis on locally-focused products and marketing,” said Chambers. “We’ve got a combined 20+ years in Los Angeles based media, and we feel strongly that there is a huge opportunity, for anyone who can execute well on mobile, in the local space.”
Additional partners include FMF Racing, one of the most recognized names in the world of motorcycle sports, and Santa Anita for their local Food Truck Festivals.
