Coined the ‘talk show for the digital age,’ ‘What’s Trending with Shira Lazar’ today announced that the award-winning interactive talk show will embark on a second season chock full of Season One staples but with expanded coverage as well as on-location special live episodes. Hosted by digital entertainment titan Shira Lazar, Season 2 of ‘What’s Trending’ premieres today with actress/comedian Missi Pyle (Oscar-nominated ‘The Artist’), Margaret Cho and Kevin Pereira (G4’s ‘Attack of the Show’) and a live performance by John West. ‘What’s Trending’ will air weekly every Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Livestream, Ustream and YouTube by visiting http://www.youtube.com/whatstrending.

Today the show also welcomed Tubefilter Co-Founder and Chill.com’s Marc Hustvedt as Social Media Correspondent to manage the real-time social interactions and live engagement with ‘What’s Trending’ viewers across Twitter, Facebook, and other emerging social technology platforms. Season Two of ‘What’s Trending with Shira Lazar’ will continue to highlight trending topics and news stories from around the web as well as the influencers and celebs shaping our conversations.

‘What’s Trending’ will host live streams from trending events and causes such as ‘What’s Trending’s’ recent CES special from Las Vegas and the #Stopbullying Special, which aired last Fall in partnership with MTV’s A Thin Line and The Trevor Project, among others. The show also plans to launch expanded coverage of verticals including politics, entertainment, tech, and more. ‘What’s Trending’s’ destination site, http://www.whatstrending.com, will continue to deliver 24/7 coverage of the digital, social and mainstream trends and the influencers behind them.

This announcement comes on the heels of What’s Trending’s four IAWTV Awards for Best Hosted Live Show, Best Host (Live), Best Director and Best Interactive / Social Media Experience. What’s Trending is also in the midst of producing ‘Oscar Dailies’ as part of ABC’s digital experience leading up to the Academy Awards, for which Shira Lazar will host the official live stream.
