Clara is the most curious Koala anyone can meet and she has energy to burn, she has discovered that life is far too exciting to stay grounded in a tree. Her brothers are trying to keep up with her and her parents are tired keeping up with her. In a drastic attempt to stop Clara they devise a plan and create the legend of the weather monster, a mythical beast that steals any koala who dares leaves the safety of the colony. However Clara’s crusade for the truth will unleash a chain of events which are both exciting and frightening. After all isn’t that what having an adventure is all about?

About the Author
Born in Canberra Australia, Michael Ashley grew up in a family of storytellers and ripping yarns. He has been illustrating native animals and birds for as long as he can remember and has produced many fine works for other children’s books including ‘The Galah Who Thought He Could Be King’. In 1990, Ashley studied at the Australian National University’s School of Arts and in 2003 he completed his diploma in 3D animation for games and film, two weeks before becoming a Dad for the first time. Later, he became co-founder and director of Red Pixels Animation Pty, Ltd. a company which has won national and international awards, including Sony Tropfest. Ashley’s artwork is proudly hanging up in Canada, USA, UK, Germany, New Zealand and South Africa to name a few. “Clara and the Weather Monster” was an idea originally written for his son Nathan and it was he who motivated this publication.
