Our aerie, or Eagle’s nest, has seen a lot of wear over the past sixty years. This will give all of our classmates the opportunity to recall friends and share memories that date back to the ‘60s.
Fort Pierce, Florida (PRWEB) February 21, 2012
They are The Last of the Eagles – the 1970 graduating class of Dan McCarty High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. On March 17 The Last of the Eagles will celebrate their mutual 60th birthdays in a special gathering in Fort Pierce. The unique twist on a 60th birthday celebration will come with all the trimmings of live entertainment, bar-b-que, beverages, and camaraderie.
“How often do you turn sixty years young?” asked Richard Parker, one of the organizers for the Eagle’s birthday celebration. “Our aerie, or Eagle’s nest, has seen a lot of wear over the past sixty years. This will give all of our classmates the opportunity to recall friends and share memories that date back to the ‘60s. It’s also a chance for classmates of that very special Class of 70 to gather one more time in a celebration of each of their lives and the contributions they have made with their lives,” Parker added.
Unlike a Class Reunion, the 60th Birth Celebration for The Last of the Eagles will be all about people and memories. Many of those memories have been captured in a book written by Parker, his 10th published. Titled Don't Trust Anyone Over 60 - The Life and Times of the Last Eagles, the title was taken from the turbulent 60’s, “Don’t trust anyone over 30”. The book will make its debut during the 60th celebration. “Our graduating class, the Dan McCarty High School Eagles, The Last of the Eagles, was full of so many bright, talented, and dynamic individuals. In the more than forty years since that class graduated, there have been so many exciting changes in our lives. Don't Trust Anyone Over 60 - The Life and Times of the Last Eagles captures the personal stories and takes a nostalgic look at what we have all experienced in one fashion or another. It’s a special tribute to some very special people who are all now reaching the sixtieth anniversary of their lives. The party and the book will begin yet another chapter in life for The Last of the Eagles,” Parker concluded.
Copies of Don't Trust Anyone Over 60 - The Life and Times of the Last Eagles will be for sale online at the Class of 70 website http://www.danmccarty70.com/
If you are a member of any of the Dan McCarty Classes and would like to attend the 60th birthday celebration, you are not only welcome but encouraged to join the party.
Plans are also underway to create a Guide to Celebrating 60 Years Handbook that details how other classes or groups may create and celebrate their own joint birthday event. Once finalized, the Guide to Celebrating 60 Years Handbook will be offered for sale via Amazon.com and its own website.
