Welch Group provides a continuum of care for those seeking the best senior care and services options.
Quincy, MA (PRWEB) February 24, 2012
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates nearly 40 million Americans are 65 or older, and the type of housing and healthcare a senior may need can change quickly with age. As older Americans and their adult children seek the best senior care and services options for their particular circumstance they might consider assisted living, rehabilitation and skilled nursing or a specialized memory care program.
For one Quincy, Massachusetts couple the “continuum of care” campus offered by Welch Healthcare & Retirement Group proved a godsend. Alex, “Sandy” and Catherine Farquhar, who have made their home in Quincy, MA, for over 40 years, transitioned from the Welch Group’s Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center to the company’s Allerton House Assisted Living Community at Hancock Park after a neighbor’s check-in discovered they needed medical assistance. Following a short stay at a local hospital, the couple moved first to the skilled nursing center, and then easily moved within the same building to the Allerton House Assisted Living Community.
The Farquhars, who recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary, say they enjoy the many ongoing activities and clubs at the assisted living community. Alex Farquhar also counts himself a proud veteran, having served in the United States Navy from 1941-1944.
