FITec, an institute specialized in Research and Development (R&D) solutions as well as in high technology projects consulting, is turning available a new model of Research and Development outsourcing in partnership with Brazilian universities. The first project under the new model is already going on in partnership with the University of the State of Pernambuco (UPE).
Under the initiative, companies that hire FITec having in view the development of technology projects, including the ones getting benefits from the two fiscal incentive measures which are the Goodness Law and the Informatics Law, are able to set up post-grad courses with the objective of training professionals in technologies that are of their interest.
During the course, the students will follow a routine sharing time in theoretical classes at the university and practical activities at FITec, where they will be in contact with the real environment involving the companies that have ordered their training.
“It is a model that brings great benefits for the contracting company, having its projects performed by highly qualified personnel and an excellent cost/benefits ratio. One of the highest advantages for the companies that choose the model is the possibility of training specialized labor in the area where they act. We are aware that hiring qualified labor is at present one of the most difficult tasks technology companies are facing. By choosing this model, the company may evaluate the professional in advance and hire him at the end of the project”, explains José Luis De Souza, FITec President Director.
The first learning institution that has joined the new model is the University of the State of Pernambuco (UPE), which has set up a course in IP Network Specializing in partnership with FITec and a large telecom supplier. FITec has also been contacting other universities in the country’s Southwestern region with the purpose of expanding the model. “The objective is to have a partnership with universities located near each one of the FITec units”, complements José Luis. At present, FITec counts with units in the cities of Campinas, Belo Horizonte and Recife.
FITec is an R&D Institute which acts as a technology development arm for companies from the telecom, IT, energy and electronics industries. Present in the market for over 18 years and holding units in the cities of Recife, Pernambuco state, Campinas, São Paulo state and Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais state, the institute is authorized to perform R&D activities for companies that get benefits from fiscal incentive measures like the Goodness Law and the Informatics Law, as well as from other initiatives granted by the Brazilian government. At present, services offered by the institute include software development, projects for end to end electronics equipment and several engineering services such as planning and implementation of voice and data networks, testing and approval of solutions, among other.
