National produce grower and shipper, Wish Farms, recently launched a sweepstakes on Facebook with the goal of increasing their fan base and rewarding existing loyal Facebook fans. The sweepstakes offers multiple prizes of grocery store gift cards in the amounts of $25, $50, $100 and a grand prize of $250 in grocery store money. The best part: the winners get to choose which major grocery retailer they would like their gift card from!

With the initial goal of increasing their Facebook fan base to 5,000, the sweepstakes will award four (4) $25 gift card winners, two (2) $50 gift card winners, one (1) $100 winner and one (1) grand prize winner of $250 to the major grocery retailer of their choosing. However, within the first 3 days of launching the contest on February 7th, the response was so tremendous that Wish Farms’ goal of reaching 5,000 fans was not only met, but exceeded.

“Our initial results were so fantastic that we thought, let’s go even further,” said Elizabeth Peterson, Social Media Manager at Wish Farms. “Let’s try and reach the 10,000 fan mark and give more people the opportunity to win some much needed grocery cash!”

Wish Farms announced that the sweepstakes will continue through March 14th and if they reach their new, more ambitious goal of 10,000 fans by this time, they will double the number of winners in each category. Wish Farms would then name eight (8) $25 winners, four (4) $50 winners, two (2) $100 winners and two (2) grand prize winners of $250 in gift card money to their favorite major grocery retailer.

“Social media platforms, like Facebook, allow us to interact with customers, friends and fellow produce enthusiasts in a way that is meaningful and fun,” said Peterson. “We are always looking for a new approach to reach people through these channels.”
