Orange County based non-profit organization, Frugality Nation™, in conjunction with Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley, launched a new afterschool program this week for middle school students. Frugality Teenz™ is a fun, interactive, and extremely informative learning tool designed to educate young people about fiscal responsibility and successful money management.
“Youth of today must be armed with the knowledge needed to navigate the pressures of consumerism in order to maintain financial balance in their lives. Otherwise they run the risk of falling prey to poor financial choices that have the power to severely alter their plans for the future,” said Malia Chapman, Executive Director of Frugality Nation™.
Ms. Chapman went on to say, “With the FrugalityTeenz™ curriculum, delivered on a multimedia platform, we have been able to extend the amount and type of information available to our learners to create active participation, accelerated learning, along with enhanced engagement. Students learn the basics of: Wants vs Needs, Goals, Spending Plans, Banking, Debt, Credit, Investing and Giving Back.”
