Wendy Johnson Lario, a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig’s New Jersey office, has been named as one of NJBIZ magazine’s 2012 Best 50 Women in Business.

“I’m honored to be recognized in the same category as these outstanding business and community leaders,” said Lario.

Wendy Johnson Lario, a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig’s New Jersey office, has been named as one of NJBIZ magazine’s 2012 Best 50 Women in Business. An independent panel of judges selected the women based on their dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement and advocacy for women, according to the publication.

“Wendy has always been dedicated not only to the growth of her practice but to other community and advocacy organizations. It’s one of the many reasons that we’re so pleased she joined the firm,” said Philip Sellinger, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s New Jersey office. “Congratulations to her on this terrific achievement.”

According to NJBiz, this awards program honors New Jersey’s most dynamic women in business that have been making headlines in their field. To qualify, a nominee had to meet selection criteria that included living or working in New Jersey and holding significant authority for decision making in a for-profit company.

“It’s a thrill to be selected not only for my professional accomplishments but for the values I hold on a personal and community level,” said Lario. “I’m honored to be recognized in the same category as these outstanding business and community leaders.”
The 2012 winners will be honored during an awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 27 at The Palace at Somerset in Somerset, NJ and featured in a special supplement to NJBIZ on April 2, 2012.

Lario represents employers in litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and whistleblowing. She provides advice and training to management and in-house counsel on employment issues like firing, hiring, misconduct, leave and attendance, employee accommodations and executive agreements, among others. She received her J.D. from Seton Hall University and B.A. from Duke University.
