The Betrayal is a new novella by Mary Parsons. It is a short, captivating story of love, betrayal and redemption set with the back drop of 9/11. The main character is Anna who has a a good marriage, a loving husband and two beautiful daughters-all seems to be perfect in her world until her husband is killed on 9/11 and she finds that her world was not as perfect as she believed.
Awash with grief and panic, Anna has just broken the news to her young twin daughters when her own twin sister appears at her door with a secret that will shatter Anna's already broken world.
Was the perfect world that Anna believed in just a sham? How will she be able to resolve the startling truth without Tom?
The 9/11 terrorist attacks are a backdrop to a story of a complicated relationship between twin sisters. The betrayal marks the end of one life for Anna and the rebuilding of a different kind of life. Does she owe it to her family to try to forgive but if she does, what will happen?
The novella presents the questions about betrayal nd forgiveness in an interesting readable story. A review on Amazon says: " A thoughtful, intricate, compelling novella that effectively incorporates religious tradition, family dynamics of several generations and current cultural issues in the US. Artfully integrates the despair of 9/11 both on our society as well as individuals. The kind of book that you want to finish! "
