"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care."

"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care." This simple, yet powerful motto expressed by Jacksonville, FL Managing Member/CEO, Howard Fineman, is what the three Jacksonville, FL Ashley Furniture HomeStores have built a strong foundation of community involvement upon.

"The Ashley Furniture HomeStore brand is based on four pillars: value, quality, style and selection," explains Fineman. "But here in Jacksonville our team has a fifth pillar, which is giving back locally and that pillar defines who we are here in the marketplace." The Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores were proud to be the first licensee locations to launch the A Hope to Dream program in January 2011. In their first year, the Ashley Furniture HomeStores have been able to improve the lives of many area children with nearly 150 beds given away. Fineman expresses deep pride for the A Hope to Dream program saying it is, "...a cause the Ashley Furniture HomeStores can truly call their own.” In addition to the quarterly bed donations, the Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores, in association with A Hope to Dream, teamed up with the Salvation Army to distribute an additional 50 Beds for 50 Kids over the holiday season! The Ashley Furniture HomeStores also actively participated in the Angel Tree and Adopt-A-Family programs, in association with the Salvation Army and Action News, to bring unexpected home comforts to deserving local families during the holiday season.

Military families are another group the Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores have been proudly supporting for several years. Through their "We Proudly Support Our Military Families" program, they have been providing various forms of aid to military families since 2005. In 2011, they formally established their partnership program with the Greater Jacksonville Area USO (Help on the Home Front) and were able to assist an estimated 500 families! "We are very proud of this partnership," states Fineman, "and look forward to even greater results this coming year." As a result of being the recipient of the national 2011 Chairman’s Award, Fineman will be presenting the Jacksonville, FL USO with a special check for $5,000 later this month.

Furthermore, the Jacksonville, FL Ashley Furniture HomeStores have continued to support the fight against breast cancer through their involvement with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the American Cancer Society and The Donna Foundation over the past several years. They are very excited about their recent involvement with the 26.2 with Donna National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer that was this past Sunday, February 12th. Fineman explains that a portion of sales proceeds from their current Presidents' Day Sale will go directly to the foundation to support ground-breaking breast cancer research, and empowering women living with breast cancer. "Our local efforts, combined with Ashley Corporate's support of our local efforts, has generated over $122,000 to date! and it is estimated that our team’s local support efforts will produce in excess of an additional $10,000 for this worthy cause during this month alone.” reports Fineman.

No matter how often the Jacksonville Ashley Furniture HomeStores are recognized for their efforts to give back to the surrounding community, Fineman is quick to attribute the majority of each event's success to the outstanding dedication, support and involvement of the entire Ashley Furniture HomeStore team. He has nothing but pride and gratitude for every member!

Fineman expressed “Receiving the 2011 Chairman's Award has been a great honor for our Jacksonville, FL Ashley Furniture HomeStores, and goes to show how fortunate we are to be a part of the First Coast community. We look forward to making 2012 an even better year for those in need in the Jacksonville area.”
