MediGroup Physician Services reports its 2011 year-end revenue exceeded $2 billion in gross sales to the alternate site. This excludes additional revenue resulting from MediGroup’s acute care and hospital sales, making MediGroup the largest group purchasing organization in the country focusing on the alternate site.

The alternate site consists of independent physicians, health clinics, surgery centers, and nursing homes. Since its inception, MediGroup has consistently been recognized as one of the most progressive group purchasing organizations in the nation. Andrew Klearman, president of MediGroup, notes that no other group purchasing organization has been able to successfully aggregate the multiple disparate physicians, clinics and non-acute health care facilities.

Mr. Klearman attributes the success and continued growth of MediGroup to its unique business model whereby MediGroup is able to simultaneously negotiate both optimal savings for its members and profit for its vendors.

He reports that, since its inception in 1999, MediGroup has been responsible for redefining the way group purchasing organizations operate.
