RE/MAX Select Properties, a Northern Virginia Real Estate Company, recently hosted a Knowledge Cafe meant to seed creative ways agents can share knowledge with one another. The conversations sparked innovative ideas for improving their overall business during these tough economic times.

The Knowledge Cafe took place during their monthly business sales meeting at the Belmont Country Club in Ashburn and gathered more than 50 RE/MAX Select Properties agents. Organizers say the event was a huge success as it helped agents refocus on how they can continue to grow their business and maintain peak performance.

“It was amazing to see the sharing of knowledge between the more experienced agents and those with less years under their belt,” said agent Ramona Rember. She went on to say, “The more experienced agents were able to bring seasoned advice as where the other agents contributed fresh new ideas. I most enjoyed the collaboration amongst the agents and how they worked together as a team to come up with innovative ways to improve their overall business."

Four facilitators managed the organizational workshop including, agents Bob Caines, Greg Wells, Beth Anton, and Operations Manager, JJ Stakem. Together they prompted agents to share new, creative ideas on how to generate more business and stay informed on local market pricing while keeping in constant contact with clients during and after a transaction. Due to the successful turnout, RE/MAX Select Properties has already started planning their next Knowledge Cafe.

“We all refocused a few years ago as the market started to turn in an effort to help our clients stay informed on home values and buying and selling in Virginia,” said Broker/Co-Owner Jim Stakem. “RE/MAX Co-Founder Dave Liniger always says, ‘You can’t do business today with yesterday’s tools and expect to be in business tomorrow.’ In this changing market it’s so true and our agents and clients depend on us to be forward-thinking.”
