Brian O’Connell and John Larson have joined Cole as Vice Presidents of Institutional Sales and Consultant Relations, reporting to Jeff Holland, Executive Vice President and Head of Capital Markets, and Brett Dearing, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales RIA-Wire-Institutional Channels.

Larson and O’Connell will lead Cole’s new initiative into the institutional marketplace. Together, they will be responsible for institutional sales and building consultant business relationships across the United States and Canada.

“In conjunction with the launch of Cole Real Estate Income Strategy (Daily NAV), we have demonstrated our commitment to the institutional marketplace by hiring seasoned industry professionals to expand and strengthen institutional sales, consultant relations and client management efforts,” Mr. Holland said. “John and Brian bring a wealth of experience and proven leadership to these critically important positions. I am confident their knowledge, insight and strong institutional community relationships will further Cole’s efforts to both expand our client relationships and deepen existing ones.”

Based in Philadelphia, Larson joins the firm after 12 years with Gardner Lewis Asset Management, where he most recently served as Managing Director with responsibility for marketing investment strategies to institutional consultants on a national basis. He played an integral role on a team that drove large cap asset growth from $18 million in 2000 to $9 billion in 2007. Previously, he held an institutional business development position with Cooke & Bieler of Philadelphia.

O’Connell, who is based in Boston, joins the firm from DDJ Capital Management where he was Vice President for client development, advising corporations, public and nonprofit organizations, family offices, Taft Hartley plans and investment consultants, helping increase the firm’s assets under management from $2.5 billion to $4.1 billion. Previously, he was a senior consultant at CRA Rogers Casey. He has also worked for SEI’s Capital Resources Advisors’ IMC group, Trusco Capital and Evergreen Investments in senior level consultant roles.
