The Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS), the nation’s only association dedicated to the CDI profession, announced the appointment of four new Advisory Board members to lead and serve the Association’s nearly 3,000 active members through 2014.
This marks the first peer election of ACDIS Advisory Board members since the organization’s founding in 2007. The four new board members were selected via a nomination committee and a vote of the ACDIS membership. The ACDIS Advisory Board will be meeting next at the upcoming 5th Annual ACDIS Conference in May.
“We are genuinely pleased to be able to grant ACDIS members a voice in choosing the board,” said ACDIS Director Brian Murphy, CPC. “The ACDIS Advisory Board plays a pivotal role in leading our organization, and provides expertise and an industry voice for the ACDIS membership and the wider CDI profession while serving ACDIS and the CDI profession with honor and integrity.”
The newly elected board members represent a wide range of industry expertise, from healthcare technology implementation to physician leadership and nursing.

- Timothy N. Brundage, MD, Physician Champion, Kindred Hospital North Florida District in St. Petersburg
- Fran Jurcak, RN, MSN, CCDS, Director, CDI Practice, Huron Healthcare in Chicago
- Dee Schad, RN, BSN, CCDS, Director of Care Coordination and CDI at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN
