Ziegler, a specialty investment banking firm with more than 100 years of experience, is pleased to announce the opening of its Nashville, TN office, the formation of its first coordinated effort to provide strategic services to hospitals and health systems in the U.S., and the hiring of Michael A. Crabb III to lead that effort.
Mr. Crabb joins Ziegler as a managing director in the healthcare practice focused on mergers, acquisitions, and strategic services. He brings over 20 years of healthcare experience providing both not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations in strategic advisory transactions as well as debt and equity capital raises. Prior to joining Ziegler, Trey founded Nashville-based Health Strategy Partners, LLC to provide merger, acquisition, affiliation, joint venture, and capital raising services to not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations nationwide. He has also worked with Merrill Lynch in the New York and London offices doing primarily not-for-profit mergers, acquisitions, and exclusive sales transactions. Trey began his career at Bank of America in Charlotte, where he was a founding member of the firm’s healthcare corporate finance and investment banking group. Trey is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been a member of the Foundation Board of Trustees at the Gillings School of Global Health at UNC-Chapel Hill since 2006. He was recently elected to the Nashville Ballet Board in 2011.
John Hanley, Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Finance at Ziegler, stated, “This is an important initiative for Ziegler and we are excited to have Trey Crabb lead this effort for the firm. His relationships, like those at Ziegler, are national in scope. His experience with all types of providers from Catholic to non-secular, from academic medical centers to small community hospitals, will benefit our clients immediately.”
Dan Hermann, Senior Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Ziegler, added, “We are pleased to have Trey join our healthcare team filling a role in which our clients have communicated a clear need. In addition, the opportunity to establish a presence in Nashville has long been on the firm’s radar given its reputation for attracting some of the brightest minds in the industry as well as a substantial amount of private investment. We will be building a broader presence around this effort.”
