Armor Professionals to Discuss Challenges, Requirements for Future Personnel and Vehicle Armor

Amendment II, an American armor company, has been selected to chair the sixth annual IDGA Military Armor Protection Conference this year. This prestigious consortium of military armor experts will meet February 27-29, 2012 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Organized by the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA), the conference provides a forum for the military armor community to exchange ideas on new armor technologies, challenges and developments in protective equipment for vehicles and personnel. In addition, armor protection professionals (both military and non-military) can learn the current requirements, latest advancements and future development of military armor.

As the developer of the innovative armor protection system, RynoHide™, Amendment II will chair the IDGA Conference. RynoHide™ is a soft, flexible, lightweight armor technology which utilizes cutting-edge nanotechnology to provide ballistic protection with less weight than traditional armor products. Derek Williams, President of Amendment II said, “we are excited and honored to have been selected to chair this year’s Military Armor Protection conference. With RynoHide™ being so easily used in both body and vehicle armor, we believe this is the optimal venue for our company. We look forward to showing RynoHide™ and it’s capabilities to key decision makers who will be implementing armor solutions in the years ahead, and to learn from them about their future needs.”

Speakers at this year’s conference include Brigadier General Thomas S. James, Commandant, US Army Armor School; Colonel Frank M. Muth, Chief of Dominant Maneuver Division, Force Development Directorate, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8; and Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Reilly, Program Manager, Infantry Combat Equipment, MARCORSYSCOM. Together with the other presenters, speakers, and attendees, these military armor experts will discuss the challenges faced and innovations needed by today’s military, in our continually changing and increasingly dangerous theaters of conflict.
