Oak Barn Vets is bound to be a hit with the locals and their pets after the new fit out!
Surrey, UK (PRWEB UK) 23 February 2012
When vets Jamie Crittall and Louise Ketteridge decided to open a practice in the Surrey village of Shalford, they were determined that it would be special. Tilehurst Barn was chosen for its location, style and space and the journey began for Oak Barn Vets. Gifford Grant Ltd was selected to design and project manage the ambitious and unusual conversion and fit out.
Although change of use had already been gained, Gifford Grant was responsible for clearing down a number of planning conditions before the fit out. Despite this being done successfully, in record time, there were still a number of limitations to working in a listed barn, not being able to make a single fixing into any of the barn’s historic timbers being the most onerous. Gifford Grant overcame this issue using a number of ingenious methods to brace and hang structural glass.
The new facility boasts a full surgical suite featuring some of the latest high tech equipment; digital x-rays, both full body and portable dental; in house laboratory, meaning quick results; separate cattery and kennels ensuring absolute comfort for pets; spacious reception and gift shop; ample parking. Finishes for the fit out include: Fully tiled treatment facilities to ensure high hygiene standards; structural glass walls to create the illusion of space and showcase the barn’s attractive structure; stone effect flooring to embrace the period and look of the property.
Set in a rural location, close to the busy town centre of Guildford and offering such first class facilities, Oak Barn Vets is bound to be a hit with the locals and their pets after the new fit out.
